An in-depth line text study and discussion of the landmark Chassidic discourse “Hemshech Yom Tov Shel Rosh Hashana Tof Reish Samech Vov,” or more intimately know as “Samech Vov.”
Samech Vov is the magnum opus of Rabbi Sholom Dovber Schneersohn (1860-1920), known by his acronym as the Rebbe RaSHaB, the fifth Chabad Rebbe, in direct line from Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi. The treatise began on Rosh Hashana 5666 (1905) and extended for 3 years, consisting of a total of 61 individual Maamorim (discourses). Samech Vov is considered to be the most fundamental mystical work ever composed laying out in comprehensive detail the dynamics of existence. It thoroughly dissects the anatomy of the cosmos and the psyche, and presents us with a psycho-spiritual blueprint on life.
To mark the centennial of this fundamental treatise (1905-2005) we are making available to the public these live recordings of Rabbi Simon Jacobson, as he studies, deciphers and bringing alive the depth and beauty of Samech Vov. To date there are 34 tapes in the series, covering up to p. 29 of the hemshech.
