Korach
Equality is more about being different than it is about being the same.
Moses’ cousin, Korach, challenges the leadership and the priesthood. Together with 250 of the intelligentsia, Korach and his posse incite a rebellion within the camp. The Jewish people are divided and this is a tragedy. Consequential to the split in the people, the earth splits open and consumes Korach and his entourage. A plague hits the camp (schisms always create catastrophe), but the High Priest Aaron’s staff blooms to life and the plague evaporates (this what High Priest’s to schisms). Certain crops, libations, and livestock are to be gifted to the priests.
