Joseph is brought from his cell to interpret Pharaoh’s dreams. Seven fat years followed by seven lean. Joseph becomes the governor of Egypt. He marries and has two sons, Menasha and Ephraim. Famine ravages the region. Only Egypt, with the financial wiz Joseph at the helm, has invested wisely. The tribes descend from impoverished Canaan to booming Egypt for provisions. Joseph recognizes his brothers; they do not recognize him. With sophisticated maneuverings, Joseph holds Benjamin hostage and keeps his brothers from leaving Egypt.
