Chana
No barrier can remain closed to a mother’s tears.
She stood swaying, praying, seemingly drunk. Birth is a miracle and she wanted a miracle. Eli, the High Priest, mistook her dedication for intoxication. Chana promised that if God would gift her with a child, she would gift that child to God. Thus the prophet Samuel was born and was brought to the temple in Shiloh, under the care of the priests. Chana teaches us that nothing stands in the way of a broken heart and everything is possible when we commit wholeheartedly.
