Daily Affirmation: Birth Is G-d Saying You Matter

PRINT

Topic: Know Your Worth

If you could say only one daily affirmation to yourself and to those you care about, let it be: Birth is G-d saying you matter.

In short, this is what it means: Every single human was created with a specific purpose to fulfill. Whether your parents planned to have you or were surprised by pregnancy, in G-d’s eyes you were not an accident. In fact, no child — no human — was put on Earth by accident.

You Were Chosen

In moments of depression, apathy, sadness, and resentment, you might hear yourself say, “I didn’t choose to be brought into this world,” or “I didn’t choose this life.”

You’re right — you didn’t choose it. You were chosen. Your soul was chosen to exist in your body, whether it makes sense to you or not. Even if your parents, or society at large, treated you like a burden, your existence makes perfect sense to the Higher Power that imbued you with life.

If This Is The First Time You’ve Heard This Idea…

Don’t feel guilty or like a failure, but do start investigating your mission in life. How well do you know yourself? Do you know what makes you tick? How much of your self-perception is colored by what family and society has said about or to you? Do you know what you — and only you — can contribute to the world?

When you discover your personal mission statement, you will begin to see how much you really do matter. And, if you hit bumps in the road or fall into bouts of apathy, hoist yourself back into reality by repeating the affirmation: Birth is G-d saying you matter.
