Status quo’s are very tricky: They seem utterly invisible, but they exert a weight that no one can even imagine, which keeps things as they are, no matter how much you try. Even when you seem to have freed yourself from a routine or habit, often it’s only a matter of time until the gravitational pull of the status quo pulls you right back to your original state.
Where do you stand on this matter? Do you feel that the status quo can change? Do you believe that YOU can change? Are we pre-wired, and nothing we do can alter our personalities, mindsets and behavior patterns? Or do we have the capacity for real and lasting change?
Please join Rabbi Simon Jacobson in this Chai-Elul / pre-Rosh Hashana workshop for a fascinating discussion on the nature of human nature, dissecting the anatomy of our wiring, what shapes us and what it would take to reshape us. Discover the two dimensions of your being – revealed to us by the two luminaries born on Elul 18: The conscious you, which is defined and usually resistant to change; and the supra-conscious you, which opens up new unprecedented vistas of opportunity, growth and… transformation.
