There are no solid statistics as to how many people suffer from some form of debilitating depression or anxiety. This is primarily due to the fact that most simply don’t acknowledge it or don’t actively seek help. However, from the existing data, it is clear that depression has a serious impact on our society and on an individual’s ability to function and thrive. It disrupts our work, our relationships and our personal well-being. Outside of clinical depression, which is beyond our control, what can one do to prevent depression or deal with it when it strikes?
