7 Steps to C.O.M.F.O.R.T. Part 3: Feel and Offer Light

With all the pain and anxiety in the world, we could all use a measure of healing and comfort.

I welcome you to join me for Part Three of The Divine Art of Healing: Seven Steps to Comfort — a 3,000 year-old time-tested formula rooted in timeless tradition. For every challenge, we are also given the inner tools and strengths to overcome it.

These seven steps are hidden in the very word comfort: C — Connect. O — Open your heart. M — Make space. F — Feel. O — Offer light. R — Reassure. T — Transform.

So far, we’ve explored Connect, Open your heart, and Make space. In this next session, we’ll continue with F — Feel, and O — Offer light.

Please join Rabbi Simon Jacobson on this journey of healing, resilience, and transformation.

Thank you Rabbi Jacobson. Your talk and insights were so comforting to me. Earlier this evening I had a ‘blow-up’ with someone on the phone. I felt that she wasn’t listening to me and kept sticking to her own view, telling me what to do. I hung up on her. Later on I emailed her my thoughts, acknowledging what she might be feeling, and expressing some ideas in resolving the conflict. In response she emailed a heart emoji. In response to that, I said how I was feeling tearful about what had happened and that I wanted to get back on solid ground and that I would talk to her either before or after Shabbat. She thanked me and said that she regretted getting angry and said that she would explain what had been behind her anger. She also thanked me for initiating some ideas to resolve the situation and that it took a load off her.

So, it showed me that taking that first step – making that first effort – acknowledging her feelings led to the increased light that you were talking about.

I look forward to the continuation of this C.O.M.F.O.R.T talk.
