Transforming Your Shadows

Post Tisha B’Av Workshop

Traveling down the rabbit hole into the kishkes of our dark spaces is no simple exercise. Who, after all, wants to look at their black holes and ugly crevices? Can one even shine a light on a shadow? And yet, so much of our lives are shaped by these invisible forces — our fears, our insecurities, our nightmares, our demons. But the thing that is most surprising — and vital — is the fact that we really have nothing to fear: When we are able to muster the courage and peer into the heart of darkness that mere look defangs the enemy and allows us to recognize the blackness for what it is: inverted energy. Like black holes our inner phantoms contain unfathomable power, which doesn’t allow any light to escape and thus doesn’t allow itself to be seen; yet, they pack more energy than our more illuminated dimensions. The secret is not to be deluded by this masquerade perpetrated by our dark shadows, as they attempt to strip us of our confidence and weaken our resolve.

Please join Rabbi Jacobson in this Post-Nine Days Shadows workshop series and discover how to transform your shadows into light. After we have traveled (in the previous segments of this series) down the pathways of our psyches into the heart of our black holes, we now will learn methods to extract and harness the enormous potency in our shadows. As we move from the diminished moon of Tisha B’Av to the full moon of the 15th of Av, we find illuminating forces coming from the dark side of the moon. Forces which allow us to experience new forms of light and energy in our lives and our relationships.
